FOUND IN THE DESERT

He was born during a time where babies of his gender were exterminated.
He made it through for a while.
He then sailed on a tar transportation on the waters of Nile, which happened to be Egyptian
Royal Bath space.
He was found and adopted to be the prince. His very smart sister shows up and orchestrates
the employment of their mother to care for the baby.
The baby prince who becomes an adult prince, had some temper issues and kills an Egyptian
for bullying a Hebrew.
The frightened prince then flees to the desert of Midian. That’s right that was Moses!
Moses the ex-prince now had fled to the desert. The only explanation that I could best think
of was this- nobody would dare to chase a man in a desert. Lost cause.
Desert, not a very cool place to live, nor is a happening place. But felt a safe place for a
fugitive Moses.
The comforts of a desert were more securing than the palace left behind.
Moses had a new job title- A Shepherd. For a prince from Egypt his job description was
rather grotesque.
He had blended so well with his circumstances, he changed his permanent address to the
desert.
The Egyptian media assumed he was dead and gone. The royal family abandoned the chase
after him. The Hebrew slaves were still slaving.
Moses was past episode.
Obscure. Unknown. Unrecognized.
Just when situations sound like one or all of the above, God always steps in.
He remembers the forgotten, he finds the lost, he lifts up the broken, and he makes a leader
out of someone like Moses.
When the time had come for Moses’ job appointment he was caught so off guard, he wasn’t
just willing to go. He made more excuses than the number of sheep in his flock probably.
Man! God was too determined. This was God convincing a man to do what he could have
done by himself anyway. Moses was called to become the leader God wanted him to be. A
great leader indeed that the heavens were proud of him and the earth revered him. He led the
exodus and changed the course of Israel history forever.

Moses was raised from obscurity to serve God’s highest purpose- making God known. He
was known as the meekest man who ever lived. He was recognized as God’s own friend. All
of that happened when he was found by God- not in the palace but in the desert!
Our God specializes in finding us in obscurity. When the world has moved on, written off our
stories; when we have given up on ourselves, God refuses to. If desert is the place for your
heart to be moulded and equipped for the call ahead, he is faithful to enrol you in that
difficult school.
Watch out, deserts aren’t worst places after all, you will be found!
